Developed by performance textile engineers, Special Effects Pyrotechnicians and Stunt Arrangers, used correctly, the full fire suit system can withstand a 100% full body burn condition for over two whole minutes. The exterior material layers can withstand constant temperatures of 1200°C indefinitely, including molten metal splash. Construction: Undergarment - The double layer of jacket and trouser under garments provides high insulation against passage of heat through the suit. Material is a twin layered composite organic needle felt, Aluminised with highly reflective film. |
| Overgarment
- A fabricated laminate of high performance glass fabric and woven glass wool provides the primary layer of protection. A thick layer of insulation under the outermost layer dramatically reduces the rate of heat flow from the exterior conditions to the first layer of undergarment. |

| Generous
overlaps on all parts of the suit prevent significant infiltration of
heat or fumes. Head and face protection can be supplied according to
specific design to accommodate prosthetics / specialist breathing aids
or for general use. Suits are constructed to order and can incorporate special features if required. Individual components of the suit can be used for partial burns or for short duration burns allowing integration into wardrobe and avoiding the bulkiness of the completed three-layer suit system. Safe use of the suit depends on a firm understanding of its working parameters and incorporating other safety features such as safe means of breathing, face, hand and feet protection, etc. The suppliers can advise on how best to use the suit but accept no responsibility for accident due to incorrect use outside these strict recommendations. |
